Time Dilation in Atomic Clocks

The Hafele—Keating experiment and GPS technology exhibit a time-dilation effect that has traditionally been explained in terms of special and general relativity. We show, based on a Newtonian concept of a gravitationally entrained ether, that atomic clocks intrinsically exhibit this time-dilation effect when moving relative to gravitational fields. To this end, we develop a mathematical framework that reproduces the values observed in the aforementioned experiments for the apparent time dilation within a Newtonian-physics framework.
