For many years, particle and nuclear physicists have been especially interested in the pion-nucleon inter­action. The reason is twofold: the knowledge of pion-nucleon interaction comprises the foundation for any dynamical theory of nuclei and this knowledge provides clues to the understanding of the internal structure of hadrons.
